Tri-Society Meeting Awards, November 2015

Leanne Roche, a PhD student in the AGRI-I consortium, was awarded 2nd place in the Elevator Speech Contest at the 2015 Annual Tri-Society Meeting held in Minneapolis. She had just 45 seconds to explain her research to a non-scientific audience. Leanne is co-supervised by Teagasc and University of Reading.

Walsh Fellowship Award Winners, November 2015

AGRI-I PhD students, Leanne Roche and Gemma Torres Sallan, had huge success at the recent Teagasc Walsh Fellowship Awards 2015. Leanne was awarded Best Oral Presentation and the RDS Medal for her talk on ‘Selecting nitrogen fertiliser sources for improved yield and reduced gaseous emissions in spring barley production systems’. Best Poster Award, December 2014

Patrick Forrestal won the Best Poster Presenter Award at the International Fertiliser Society Agronomic Conference for his poster entitled ‘Grassland nitrogen uptake and use efficiency as affected by fertiliser nitrogen source and inhibitors’. The poster investigated the performance of a range of fertiliser N products including CAN, urea, and urea with inhibitors in grassland. [...]
